My Top 10 Anticipated Early 2019 Releases!

early 2019 releases

2019 is looming ever closer, and with it comes a load of new books! Here are my Top 10 most anticipated releases for early 2019!

I also did a video on this that you can check out here!

Or just watch it below!

Evermore – Sara Holland, December 31st 2018
Ok, ok, I know this is technically a 2018 release, but it’s literally the LAST day of 2018 so I’m counting it, I don’t care. First, can we please appreciate that cover! OMG!  It’s gorgeous! Anyway, Everless was a pretty good YA debut for Holland- it wasn’t without its flaws but the story gripped me enough to want to continue the series and I want to see if Holland has developed as a writer (plus I wanna see if Jules has become less irritating)!

Two Can Keep a Secret – Karen M. McManus, Jan 8th
I am beyond excited for this! This is the second novel from McManus, and her first one, One of Us is Lying, was SO good that I gave it my Best YA Fiction of 2017 award! I have every faith that McManus can knock it out of the park again! Two Can Keep A Secret is about a small American town that is full of secrets and, as the protagonist finds out, secrets can be deadly! I’ve waited long enough for another book from McManus!

Song of the Dead – Sarah Glenn Marsh, Jan 22nd
Hands up – honesty time – I’ve not read Reign of the Fallen yet! Or at least by the time this goes live I won’t have – but I don’t care! I’m super excited for Reign of the Fallen and I’m so sure I’ll love it that I’m already excited for the next book! And you know what – if I end up hating it, at least they will make gorgeous additions to my library – that’s what I’m using the Red Queen for!

Circle of Shadows – Evelyn Skye, Jan 22nd
This looks like it’s going to be the first of a series and I’m hyped! Fantasy fighting, stealthy soldiers, magic, protecting a kingdom, mystery…sounds right up my street! This novel promises adventure, espionage, secrets in a weaving web and a load of magic. I’m fully on board for this!

The Cerulean – Amy Ewing, Feb 5th
Woop! Another duology! Mixing darkness and fantasy is my kinda thing! We’re following what seems like a pretty cut and paste YA fantasy story with this one, but there’s enough uniqueness in it to really intrigue me! It’s probably going to be a ‘humans are the real monsters’ kind of story, and I don’t doubt our protagonist will fall in love with a human – but I’m still excited to get my hands on this one!

The Antidote – Shelley Sackier, February 5th
Here comes another dark fantasy involving magic! I think this might be one of the weaker entries on this list, but it still sounds good: forbidden magic accidentally slips out and pulls our protagonist into a secret and shadowy land where her life is on the line.

Four Dead Queens – Astrid Scholte, Feb 26th
OMG are you kidding me?! So, there’s one country and 4 queens. They rule in harmony over their quadrants and rule the country together. The quadrants all value/specialise in something a la Hunger Games or Divergent, but one day a communications disk reveal all 4 queens have been brutally killed! Now the protagonist is thrust into a world of secrets, lies and mystery! SIGN ME UP!

Brief Chronicle of Another Stupid Heartbreak – Adi Alsaid, Apr 30th
I’ve read one book by Adi Alsaid before (Let’s Get Lost) and I fell in love with it so I’m excited to get my hands on this! Yes I know he’s brought out other books – I just haven’t gotten around to getting them. But this sounds like such a heartbreaker – is it sick that I’m excited?

These Witches Don’t Burn – Isabel Sterling, 2019
Teen witches living in modern day Salem and a blood witch is on the loose and attacking people. That was enough to get me hyped about this book! What can I say – it checked every box! Salem is my niche!

Hot Dog Girl – Jennifer Dugan, 2019
Erm…I’m not so sure on the title of this one as ‘hot dog girl’ is already the name of a fairly suggestive meme, and search results are likely going to bring up the meme rather than the book – but I like the sound of the premise. It seems like a light-hearted YA contemporary that would make a great pallet cleanser. Plus part of it takes place in an amusement park!

So that’s it! Those are the top 10 books that are due an early 2019 release (give or take a few titles) that I’m looking forward to!

Are you excited for any on this list? Are there any you think I should have added?
